RECITAL

Recitals shows are June 17th and 18th; most kids will just be in one show; if your child takes multiple classes, he/she may be in more than one show. A ‘Run Through’ of the shows will be Tuesday June 14 th at the Fairgrounds (no costumes). Dress Rehearsal June 16th at Patuxent High School (wear costumes). (Once the line up of the recital is finalized we will attach times to everything.)

IMPORTANT

Please read emails, especially this time of the year, as this is how we communicate about upcoming rehearsals.

RECITAL TEE SHIRTS and TROPHIES

The show troupe will be selling recital trophies and tee shirts, for their fundraiser and a form will be emailed that you can fill out if you’d like to purchase a tee shirt/and/or trophy.

RECITAL BOOK

We can offer a hard copy souvenir recital books this year; it will have a collage of pics, memories of the past year, and it will have a lineup of the recital shows. In order to pay for the cost of printing, we offer opportunities for businesses to put in a business card ad, or half page or full-page ad in the book. We also provide an opportunity for any parent to put in a ¼ page, ½ page or a full-page ad with your child’s picture and a blurb! We also encourage each class to take a group picture to submit to the recital book as well, that way it can be kept for years as a special souvenir. A form to submit an ad will be emailed to you in the next couple of weeks!

TICKETS and JUNE tuition

As of now, there are no restrictions on capacity at Patuxent High School for the recital! Each family will receive four tickets to each show their children are in. Additional tickets will be sold once all the tickets have been distributed for just $5 each! We hope to make distribution of the tickets the week of June 6th at the studio. All tuition must be up to date. Therefore, June’s tuition is due by May 19th so all bookkeeping can be completed, and checks can clear the bank. Any late payments must be made in cash.

VOLUNTEER for each class

We are asking for one volunteer for each class to sit with the kids at the recital. The kids usually sit in the upper level in the back. The volunteer will bring the kids down the hallway to the backstage when it is time for them to perform. The volunteer will receive TWO extra tickets to the recital, plus the volunteer does not need to use a ticket to sit in the auditorium. Please let your child’s teacher know if you are willing to do this. Only one volunteer is needed; if a second volunteer offers, then each volunteer will get one extra ticket to the recital, vs. two extra tickets.

VIDEO TAPING AT RECITAL

Since everyone will be getting a link for all the recitals, videotaping at any recital is strictly prohibited. You CAN take videos and pictures only at the dress rehearsal. Please no flash.

DRESSING ROOMS at the recital

We will have designated areas where kids can change their costumes. This will be announced at dress rehearsal.

SPRING BREAK

The spring break will be April 11th – 17th. Classes resume on Monday April 18th, even though schools are closed.

PICTURE SCHEDULE

A picture schedule has been emailed. Pictures will be held the week of May 23rd. Your child may need to come to get his/her group and individual picture taken on a DIFFERENT day and time from his/her’s regularly scheduled class. Classic Photography will be taking the pictures, and they have a new system that they can send the proofs right to your email, so therefore it is VERY important that the email we have on file is correct. If there are any corrections that need to be made, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ASAP. Put child’s name, child’s teacher and class time in the email as well.

RECITAL LINE UP

The lineup of the shows will be emailed to you in a couple of weeks. Please check your child’s name to be sure there are no typos. Inform us immediately so we can make changes.

LOST AND FOUND

We have a lost and found box in the lobby, if anyone has lost anything; we have hoodies and jackets to name a few things! We will be donating these items to Good Will after the recital.

MASKS

Starting April 1st wearing masks at the studio will be optional. We will still have kids come into the studio by the outside studio entrance. Kids can change rooms through the lobby area and/or be dismissed through the lobby.
